About financial accountability in NGOs
Effective and accountable financial management is the corner stone of NGO accountability and sustainability, and a key component of program and organizational management. However, in many NGOs, the organization’s financial planning, monitoring, and reporting systems and how they are integrated into the overall organizational management process still needs strengthening. Meanwhile, the world of NGOs is rapidly changing, and increasingly competitive. To be able to survive and develop, NGOs must have and implement quality financial management systems, which fulfill requirements for accountability, while strengthening the organization’s sustainability. Developing professional and strategic financial management will not only increase supporters’ trust, it can also enhance an organization’s ability to manage their own resources for sustainability.

Expert trainers: IDEP’s team works directly with communities and NGO partners throughout the country. The team has assisted in capacity building NGOs in Aceh, North Sumatera, Java, Sulawesi and West Nusa Tenggara amongst others. Effective training methodology: Participants will be involved in a dynamic and effective learning environment. IDEP trainers use a range of tried and tested techniques, discussion groups, practice sessions, hands-on practice and teamwork activities. Participants should prepare their organization’s profile including vision and mission, program plans, current activities and achievements to date. Participants should also prepare a case study of managerial challenges their organization is currently facing prior to joining the workshop. This will help to ensure that the training focuses is relevant to their organization’s needs. Participants must have their own computers to do this training. If they cannot bring their own, equipment can be rented from IDEP. Rental fees will apply. |
Comprehensive

IDEP provides all participants for this workshop with comprehensive handouts as key references to the contents of this training.
As part of this training each participant will receive Indonesian versions of the following materials for use in their areas.

Certification
At the completion of the training, participants that have successfully completed 90% or more of the entire course will receive a certificate of participation for the training.

For training held on-location at your site, you cover costs for
- The workshop training fees
- Costs for IDEP's trainers to travel to and from your location
- Accommodation and food costs for IDEP trainer's while on site
- Resources and training materials provided
- All local costs for training location, participants' food, travel and accommodation as needed
